The lower campground is located behind Yokum’s Restaurant, just off Route 55. It is nestled along the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River, with an amazing view of Seneca Rocks. There are RV hook-ups along the river and throughout the campground, a playground set for children, and a bathhouse with bathrooms and showers. There is also a dump station in this campground. Tent camping is also possible in this campground, and there is a pavilion open to use and available for rent for group events.
The Princess Snowbird Campground is located just across the road from Seneca Rocks. It borders Seneca Creek on one side and a cow pasture/mountain on the other, and is an easy walk to the Sites Homestead, Discovery Center, swimming hole and Yokum’s General Store. The rocks are visible from various points in the campground. In addition to tent camping there are several RV hook-ups both along the river and throughout the campground. The Princess Snowbird Cabins are also found in this campground, as well as the teepees, bunkhouses, and 2 pavilions. There is currently one bathhouse with showers and toilets. A new bathhouse has been built and will be operational by spring 2019. There is also a dump station located in this campground.
There are 3 pavilions available to rent for your group’s event. One is located in the Lower Campground, one at the front of Princess Snowbird Campground, and one at the back of Princess Snowbird Campground. They all have picnic tables and a water source. Reservations required for rental. When they are not being used by a group, they are open for campers to use.
Pavilion Rental: $75 Per Day
The bunk houses are located in the Princess Snowbird Campground. They are great for groups and are a nice economical step up from camping. Each bunkhouse has a woodstove, TV (with limited channel selection), sitting area and 11-17 bunks. You must bring your own towels, pillows, linens and blankets. Bathrooms are located in the campground bathhouse, a short walk from the bunk houses. There are also picnic tables, fire rings, and a pavilion nearby.
$50 (1-2 people) + $10 each additional person (over 6 years old)
There are 5 teepees available to rent. The teepees are located near the bunkhouses at the back of Princess Snowbird Campground and constitute the original “Indian Village” that the campground was named for. They offer a unique experience, but be prepared to rough it a little! Teepees are 12’ in diameter and all have a light and fan. 4 people should be able to fit comfortably in one teepee. There is no bedding at all, and the floor is concrete, so please bring your own sleeping mats and sleeping bags. Bathrooms are nearby in the campground bathhouse. There are picnic tables, fire rings, and a pavilion nearby. Reservations recommended.
